Easter Fun

The boys had fun dying eggs for Easter, Collin did not get it though and broke a few eggs. He also kept saying that there's a baby chick in the egg, I felt really bad! Trying to get a 2 year old to understand that there are not baby chicks in the eggs was hard to do. I also had a hard time explaining to Aidan what Easter is about, we read an Easter story and in it said Jesus can even bring people back to life, he wanted to pray to Jesus that we bring back my Grandmas, so it got even more complicated during my explanation. His brain is always thinking of something!

Happy 1st Birthday Dominic!

Dominic is 1 today!! We're having family over to celebrate tomorrow night. For his low fat diet I'm making Angel food cup cakes with fat free whip cream topping. Today he's running around causing trouble with his brothers, they keep leaving the bathroom door open and he keeps getting in the toilette, disgusting! He also running around saying
"Da Da" another Daddy's boy!

Dominic's first haircut

Well Dominic had his first hair cut a little early. Aidan decided to cut it when I was trying to clean the house, he climbed of coarse up to the top shelf and got their kid craft scissors and when I asked him what he did he said "Mom, I just took a little off the top". Wonderful. Aidan has a history with cutting hair, he's cut Collins a few times. So much for cleaning, I can't be in another room for more than a minute before they get into something!

Aidan begins to read

Aidan recently started to read a little, I've been working with him on letter sounds and recognition for a while now and he just started putting the letters together sounding out the words. We are very excited that he's already starting to read! I bought some BOB books for him and he loves them! It's amazing to watch these little minds at work!

Update

Sorry it's been a while since I've put anything up. After the hospital stay and chaos we've just been trying to get back to normal. The hospital was really a reality shock for us, we didn't have a good plan for Aidan & Collin, they had a very hard time with being moved around. We are starting to think about how we should do this when the kids are in school and Dominic is in the Hospital for an illness. It's not going to be easy trying to get them to and from school and I'll have to be with Dominic at the Hospital. I know we have some time to think about it all, it was a lot harder on us than we thought though.
The stinkers are doing pretty well, we've been getting out a lot more, I'm finding if I get them out to the park or just get them out somewhere they are a lot better the rest of the afternoon, I guess didn't know kids get stir crazy too. I'm having trouble with gaining their respect again, this happens every so often that they just stop listening to me. Ever since I had Dominic and have to spend so much time with his frequent feedings/pumping and charting his diet I couldn't always stop them after I told them to stop doing something they were not supposed to do, of coarse they realized that Mommy wasn't going to come stop them from what ever they were doing but only tell them not to do it so they just keep on. I'm trying to get back on top of that! The ages they are at right now are not easy at all!! I don't want them to grow up fast but have happy thoughts of what it will be like in just a few years when we are past this crazy time.
I've found out through an MRI that I may not have fibromyalgia but I do have bulging discs in my neck instead causing much of the pain, we can work through chiropractic and pain management doctors to try to help the problem and hopefully I'll start feeling much better soon. If we get them under control then I guess I'll know for sure if I do have the fibro or not, there is no set test on whether you have it or not so it's very hard to diagnose, I'm really hoping it's not what is wrong.
Nothing else really going on here, just trying to get through each day as it comes the best we can. I'll try to update more, I have lots of pictures of the boys to post soon :)

So when the boys came to visit Dominic in the Hospital last week, they all wanted to get in his cage crib. I think we need one of these at home for sure!! I could definitely use one and maybe keep my house from getting destroyed :P

This is what happens on Daddy's time

Jeff was outside grilling and the boys were all muddy so I took Aidan and Collin in for a business bath before dinner. I told Jeff to watch Dominic. When I was finished with the boys I asked Jeff where Dominic was. He wasn't sure but we knew he was in the yard with him, this is how we found him. Disgustingly muddy and it was in his mouth, everywhere! Only on Daddy's time!

Collin's latest

Collin decided to do some art work on Dominic when I wasn't watching. Dominic looks very scared, he's definitely afraid of Collin these days and with good reason.



Watch out, Collin bites!

Lately Aidan has been playing with Dominic, Collin goes to bed early so Aidan gets bored and begs us to keep Dominic in his room with him. Dominic climbs up onto their beds and Aidan piles toys all over him, Dominic seems to love it. Today I caught Aidan bribing Dominic into his room, Dominic had a toy and was buys playing, Aidan takes the toy away and is holding the toy out calling Dominic while Dominic followed the toy down the hall to his room so that Dominic would join him. Just like you would to a dog! It was funny, these boys are always cracking us up with what they come up with.

He rules the house

So my 4 year old thinks he runs the show around here. He's very helpful, I'll give him that. Always letting me know when Collin gets into something or if Dominic is eating something he shouldn't have. I'm very thankful. However, today I am telling him we need to brush his teeth, he needs to wash his hands and I'm going on and on. He looks at me and says "mom, you need to settle down right now." I'm so shocked by these things that he says sometimes that I just have to walk off and laugh. Everyday something new and so adult like comes out of his mouth. He is always telling me to be patient. I thought we were the teachers of our children, in my case it may be the other way around sometimes :)

Diggerman Aidan's Birthday

Aidan will be turning 4 on Tuesday. I can't believe he's already 4! They really do grow so fast. We had a small family party with his cousins and also celebrated Alex's 15th birthday~ again they really do grow up way too fast! I can still remember when I first met Alex and he was only 6, it feels like just yesterday. Aidan had a great time and I didn't burn the cake! I made my first Birthday cake, I normally just buy them but decided I'd try since he wanted a digger cake. It was actually a lot of fun decorating it and I really got into it.

Snow Fun

The boys had a blast in the snow this week. I love that they play together like best friends, I hope they stay this way!

No more naps!!

Dominic has decided at 9.5 months that he's old enough now to skip naps. I've been trying to get him down and he refuses. Collin does not nap either during the day and has not for a very long time. What is the deal? Mommy kind of needs these naps some days for her sanity.

What's New

Dominic is teething so he's still a happy for the most part boy during the day but is awake crying on and off half the night and will only go back to sleep on my chest, so I'm not getting much sleep. It will pass soon, just keep reminding myself that :)

Collin is voicing his opinion all the time now, talking like crazy. He's still getting into all the 2 year old trouble and climbing everywhere but starting to listen when I tell him to get down.

Aidan is really starting to talk back, he keeps calling me a chicken. Then when he starts to get in trouble he says he was just kidding. So I'm working on that one.

Both boys keep picking their noses, it's making me sick. One thing a germaphone cannot handle and I have 2 doing it. Collin learned from Aidan. wonderful. If anyone has any idea how to stop it, please let me know. I keep telling him when he goes to school how bad it will be.

Alex has been sick so we have not seen him as much, we miss him! Thankfully his mom lets us know and keeps him home when he is sick so that Dominic does not get anything.

Lastly, sorry I have not been updating as often, I'm in another fibromyalgia flare up and it's painful! I try to ignore it but it's hard.

Another Climber

Dominic is now climbing. Just what we needed around here! A 3rd climber. He was on the dishwasher yesterday, I thought no big deal, that's like 1 step. Then today he managed to get on to the train table to get to the toy he wanted. Though it's kind of cute, it will not be fun when all 3 are climbing to get into trouble or get to the candy.

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year!!! We spent our new year all together here at home. The boys are still sick, Aidan is eating again though so today was more the usual of trying to keep them out of trouble. Dominic was coughing the bark cough all night last night, it sounds just like when Aidan had croup when he was a baby. So far he's still eating just crabby and sleeping a lot more. Such the eating champ.
I got a few little videos of us being silly last night I'll have to put on here later. Aidan stayed up with us until 12am to see the fireworks outside. I'm hoping we have a good and healthy year. Jeff starts school in a few weeks so that will be interesting. Collin is finally getting a bit easier now that he can talk and be understood, he can voice to us how he feels. We are off to a good start!
