Thumb Sucking Continued

Wow, I'm loving the thumb sucking! I put Dominic in his crib knowing he was tired to get Aidan ready for bed, I completely forgot about him only to find him asleep with his beloved thumb in his mouth. He can put himself to sleep! We still have to put Collin to sleep by staying with him until he falls asleep, Aidan we have to have a whole routine with and read at least 3 books, neither of them even stay asleep and end up in our bed by morning and putting each child to bed a different way takes up a lot of time each night. Dominic in his own bed keeping himself to sleep with his thumb is blowing my mind, I hope this keeps up! And I do realize this is something that will come back to bite me when we try to get him to stop, but I think right now I need this for my own sanity.

Collin fell asleep waiting for Aidan to finish taking a bath. Poor guy always waits outside the door when we don't give them a bath together.

Well in regards to my last post about Alex starting Highschool, I just got off the phone with him on an update of how his second day went. He decided he's changing his classes so that he can have 5 classes with the girl he likes instead of the 2 that he already has with her. I think we are in trouble for this year!

We now have

A Highschooler! I can't believe it! Alex just started Lindbergh High. This should be an interesting next few years. Jeff was pretty good in high school, but I was horrible, I was sneaking out, hanging out with the bad kids, getting into trouble everywhere doing unmentionable things. I always knew I'd get payback from my own kids, I just never knew it could be this early. I started dating Jeff when Alex was 6, he's really turned into a maturing young man. He's a good kid so far! I hope he stays this way :P

On a side note: there's always something to share about Collin, it must be this almost 2 age.
So he was begging for candy like he does every day and I said "no, not right now Collin" for the next few minutes he kept asking "why?", this is a new Aidan taught word, it caught me off guard, Collin surely can't understand everything I say, or maybe he does but he doesn't listen, he just looks at me with those big blue eyes and really looks like he does not understand me. I couldn't figure out what to say to answer him back so that he'd understand, I tried but I still got "why?". Now I'll have 2 boys asking me why after every thing I say no to. I love the "because I said so" card. I never thought I'd use it but I do.

GRR!

Here we go again, we caught him on top this time. I of coarse had to snap a picture of this monkey. He gets in trouble, but NOTHING seems to keep him out of trouble, he's one hard to discipline almost 2 year old and out of control! I had already removed the candy thinking that would keep him down. When I caught him he grabbed his Vitamins saying "vitee, vitee" reminding me that I had not given him one yet today. Any ideas how to keep him off the top of the fridge?

What a day so far!

I walked into the living room and Collin was all wet, I looked around trying to find a sippy cup that they must have dumped, no sippy cup but there was more wet on my floor and on my couch. Turns out Aidan decided to have a pee party all over Collin & my living room. This is something Collin would do, he's just beginning the potty training stage so he already pees all over, not Aidan! I'm surprised daily by one of my boys. He's in trouble today!!

Just Great

Looks like we need to find a new place to hide the candy! These monkeys can open the gate to the kitchen and now Collin knows how to get to wherever his heart desires, in a minutes time. Yes my house is an unorganized mess right now.

Our Bed

Where do I sleep you ask? See that little slither of bed between Aidan & Dominic? That's me! I don't get too much sleep but get plenty of snuggle time. Who needs sleep anyway?
It's not every night but it is a few times a week that we end up with Collin, Aidan or both. Dominic is a permanent fixture for now.

YAY! A Thumbsucker

I'm so happy, Dominic in this past week or so has become a thumb sucker! Some may think I'm crazy for wanting this but I have always been the human pacifer for my babies and with the Collin & Aidan was not able to even leave the house for long because they would not go to sleep without nursing. But since Dominic has had a strict feeding schedule back and forth between bottle & breast feeding he decided he likes his thumb to get to sleep. So now he's a self soothing baby. Yeah this may be hard to break later but oh well! As long as he doesn't suck his thumb till he's 5 like his daddy did or nurse till he's 4 like you know who :)
